DJ Strawberry Named Tournament MVP

Darryl's oldest son DJ was named MVP of the Coaches vs.Cancer Classic Tournament held Nov 16-17 at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
DJ who is a Senior at the University of Maryland has been averaging 19 points per game this season.

"He's our guy. We put him on whoever we need to put him on.He's worked hard at his game and he's dedicated himself to being a great player. He's really on the rise as a basketball player but his biggest concern is making us a better team. He's one of the better leaders I've had for a while at Maryland.

Darryl was on hand for both games to watch DJ and his teammates bring home a win for the Maryland Terrapins.

A Great Day for Golf

Darryl joined his brother Michael and his Godfather for the annual church fundraiser and golf tournament. What a fun day, Darryl needed a couple more strokes, but he showed off some nice swings. It was a great day for all and a chance to contribute to a good cause.


Darryl Donates to Church Groups

Darryl returned to Los Angeles this week to visit family and help out some local church groups. After years of packing boxes, Darryl has decided to donate all his clothing to charity.
It was a hot day, but Darryl was having fun seeing the smiles while he gave over twenty huge boxes of clothing to his community church.
He lifted and dug through every box until there was nothing left. Also found in this stuff was a large amount of game-used Mets, Dodgers, Giants, and Yankees equipment.


Darryl Back at Shea Stadium

Darryl Strawberry was back at Shea to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Mets 1986 World Series. There was a drizzle and cold wind that night, but that didn't stop the fans. They saved the best for last when they announced Darryl. Shea erupted with cheers when his name was announced.

Darryl Reunites with Longtime Friend Eric Davis

Darryl joined his longtime friend and teammate Eric Davis for an interview. The interview will appear on Eric's upcoming DVD "Hitting from the Heart". Darryl and Eric spoke about everything including little league, World Series championships, and battles with cancer. It was a great day and Darryl had a fantastic time reminiscing with Eric.

Darryl was very flattered by the Yankees hospitality and the request for him to appear. He loves New York and will always consider himself a true New Yorker.
